In the late 80's as Chile became an important producer of raspberries, Vital Berry Marketing S.A. (VBMSA) was founded by seasoned fruit people, in order to provide a technically specialized concern that could assist growers. VBMSA put in place the required certifications and adapted handling, packing and transportation to meet requirements of such perishable fruit.

Chile then moved into the production of cultivated blackberries and blueberries with VBMSA being one of the most important players in the development of the Berry Category and its worldwide sales.

As the Berry Category increased its year-round customer demand, berries became a must in supermarkets and consequently developed the need for a continuous supply.

VBMSA addressed the above in two main areas:

  1. New productions of berries in different countries such as:
    • Chile
    • Argentina
    • Uruguay
    • Mexico
    • Rumania
    The areas chosen assure harvesting of fresh product on a continuous sequence in line with demand

  2. Bringing the marketing closer to our clients. The essence of the production of these perishable fruits is good logistics and customer service. At present VBMSA has production operations in:
    1. Argentina - Tecnovital
    2. Mexico - VBM Giumarra
    3. USA - GiumarraVBM
    4. Uruguay - Tecnovital
    5. Germany - VitalBerry Gmbh

VBMSA's shareholders are also active in growing berries using all the latest genetics and farming techniques. These productions account for more than 60 % of VBMSA supplies.
